What is Gayme Night?

Gayme Night is a weekly event hosted at City-State Brewery on Wednesday. Gayme night is a low-stakes, casual meet-and-play for anyone that enjoys tabletop and board games. Event featured games will range from strategic to completely casual, and we are more than happy to take input from anyone on adding any game(s) to the featured rotation. You can also always bring you own games or play any other games we may bring.

How does it work?

Table Host will have games setup ready to play. Gayme Nighters will fill the tables on a first-come, first-serve basis. If a table is full and you don't want to play any games available, you can just hangout and enjoy a drink or grab any other stragglers and play any of the other games we may have laying around.

If players need it, the table host will give a brief overview of the basic rules and gameplay and then start the game.

Once a game is finished, the table host (w/ the help of players) at each table will have a 5-10 minute break to clean up and get "ready-to-play" for another round.

More details on rules and etiquette participants are expected to follow.

Of course! The more the merrier! Allies are always welcome.

How often will there be Gayme Nights?

Right now, Gayme Night will be held every other Wednesday starting Wednesday May 8th. And future events will be posted here when available. If attendance and demand warrants, we may turn this into a weekly event. All feedback on the matter is appreciated!

Where will the events be held?

Currently all events will be at City-State Brewery, Co. in Eckington. It is about a 2-minute walk from the Rhode Island Ave-Brentwood Metro Station:

Do I have to RSVP to attend?

Nope, you can just show up. It makes our lives much easier if most people RSVP to try to get enough volunteer table hosts, but you can certainly just pop in and play! We will always have a few extra games than RSVPs just in case. Or just bring your own games!

How much does it cost to play?

$0.00 - Attendance and game play is free!

Can I bring my own games?

Absolutely. The organized games are to facilitate game play. But you are more than welcome to bring you own games to try to get people to play! But remember Gayme Night is about a meet-and-play philosophy. We ask that you operate as a Table Host if you want to get people to play your game and let people join first-come, first-serve as with any of the tables.

What can I do to help?

There are couple ways to help. But the most useful especially as we work through logistics is going to be volunteering.

• Table Host
  facilitate running the games. A table host should know the basic rules, Gayme Night etiquette and ideally some of the game nuances (but the GM can always help in a pinch). A table host will run a table with at least one play of a featured game. After the first play that they can "keep hosting" and pick another game or replay the same game.
• Setup Crew
  these volunteers help setup the various games. This may involve putting together game pieces, separating out/shuffling decks, and setting up boards.
• Clean-up Crew
  these volunteers help with any cleanup. And make sure games have all the pieces, parts, cards and/or boards in them.
